The more movies this site covers, the more useful it can be to the feminist and anti-racist community. Unfortunately, I’m a full-time student, and not of film, so I cannot watch every movie. Nor do I want to, to be honest.

I am a young white lady with upper-middle-class privilege coming out of my ears. I understand some social prejudices more fully than others, and none of them completely. Feel free to say, “Hey, Christina, that’s not right.” I will listen.
Some films are unambiguous failures at the Measure (The Depahted, for example, has only one named female character and one named person of color — no room for confusion there), but some are a little trickier.
When the women in Little Children are talking about Madame Bovary, aren’t they really talking about Brad? I think so.
In The Manchurian Candidate (2004), when Captain Marco and Corporal Melvin are discussing Melvin’s dreams, are they really just talking about Raymond Shaw? Not completely.
